Proposal local tour….

I’m very excited at the prospect of making my first video for this course. I want to show in my local tour video the calm atmosphere but it can also be courageous with the traffic in my area. My local tour video won’t be informative but I’m hoping it provides entertainment with the camera angle shots I plan to use.

Extreme long shot - This shot normally shows exterior scenes such as buildings or sites. It won’t give a much detail but it is a great shot to start my film with or even end.

Close up - This shot won’t be giving as away much of the background as it’s a close-up but it will be used to focus on objects in the park such as a swing or a climbing frame. I have used this shot before and it intends to give a more blurred effect in the background.

Long shot - This shot is more life size and as how you would see it. If I were to film people then you would capture their whole body. For example I record myself. My head would have to be at the top of the frame and my leg at the bottom. The background would also show a lot of detail.

Low angle shot - I have used this before and it’ my favourite shot. The low angle shot increases height which may confuse the viewer as it may seem as an object is bigger than it should be. Since it’s a low angle shot it will tend to be just the sky in the background.

Camera movement - I have used this camera angle before. This camera angle tells a story. Moving the camera has the effect of making the action seem slower than it actually is. It also adds excitement.

My target audience for my local tour video I’m going to direct it at the elderly , because my area contains a lot of elderly people and I think it’s the right age to direct this at. From my perspective I don’t think teenagers or children but be interested in this video.

I haven’t yet considered my backing track yet but I’m hoping to go for something slow.

Film 1 local tour - Filming day 2

After putting my video clip together i thought it was rather dull. I used the same angles for the majority of the clips, altogether i had a total of 13 clips but to make a 1 minute video i had to scrap some of my ideas.

 I decided to go out filming again as new ideas came into my head. I felt that filming today was more successful than the filming the day before.

 I went back to the park and busy areas around Littleover Derby to gather more advanced attractive footage with a varies of different camera angles.

 I will post my final piece shortly.
I've previously made video's before so i'm pretty experienced. I used windows movie maker software which is pretty easy and simple to use.

I added music which is a good, slow and calming song which keeps up with the pace of the video. I first heard the song on prison break and i liked it. The song is called Lay it down slow by Spiritualized.
I hope my video meets the requirements and expectations.

On my day of filming i decided to go around the streets and film whatever i could come across. I managed to get some decent footage for my clip. I went on to film traffic, dogs and wildlife. I spent an hour filming.

When tourists visit Derby they will go and visit the local town. My target audience for my piece would be tourists or people new to Derby. It would be useful to them because they would know what to look out for. I would film Westfield shopping centre as it's a key feature, the guild hall and many other sites around Derby.

I'm not a Derby fan but i sometimes go to the games. I might film the crowd in the stadium and capture the atmosphere which i feel will be appealing. What i mean by atmosphere is the chants, the excitement and build up to the big kick off.

I think i may go and film my local area. My area (Littleover ) is very quiet and i find it boring. The majority of the people that live in my area are elderly. But i may find time and visit the parks and try to find something fascinating to show you.
